School celebrated World Population Day on 11th July, 2018 to seek attention on the urgency and importance of population issues at the global level including the importance of reproductive health. Observing the theme of the year Family Planning is a Human Right initiation was aimed at vast scale to combat the issue of growing population. Students had various activities to create awareness about the growing menace of population growth.

Its a wonderful initiation by Sh. D. Murli Krishna Honble Chairman Vikash Group, to empower our Teachers and Hostel Caregivers and to help them to be more effective in understanding youth psyche and hence guide youth better with more comprehensive approach to all adolescent issues, from aggression to addiction. For such capacity building Endeavour a Ten Days Basic Counseling Skills Training for 31 participants of the whole Vikash Group has been designed in association with UMMEED Counseling & Consulting Services, Kolkata. The first phase of the training was conducted on 7th & 8th July, at Vikash Bhubneshwar, for all along with the 15 participants from Vikash Bargarh.

Celebration of Rathyatra and Bahuda Yatra like all other years, the chariot festival of the deities Lord Jagannath, Lord Bhalabhadra and Subhadra was celebrated on Vikash Campus. The Chariot of the deities was taken in a procession with students and teachers. Prior to the morning assembly, worship of the deities was performed.

Commemorating the victory of Indian Army in the war against Pakistan in 1999. School observed 19th Kargil Vijay Divas in the Morning Assembly on 26th July. Candles were lit up to pay homage to every valiant soldier-The Kargil martyrs to every valiant soldier who fought for the Motherland till their last breath. On the pride full day students and teachers recaptured the supreme sacrifices and exemplary courage made by the Indian soldiers during the Operation Vijay in 1999.

The House Installation Ceremony for the session 2018-19 was conducted on 11th August where School entrusted responsibilities to the student- the prospective leaders from the four vibrant houses namely Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari and Mahanadi. All the Office Bearers were provided with the symbols of Leadership – Sash and badge. They solemnly promised to realize their duties and responsibilities. Honourable Sh. D. Nageswar Rao, Director Administration, VGI witnessed the ceremony and emphasized the duty of a Leader and made the Office Bearers aware of their responsibility.

A panel of Vikash Academicians led by Sri Pitambar Das, Dean Academics, Vikash, BBSR and the team comprising Smt. Vijayalakshmi Das, Principal, VRS, Khandagiri; Dr. Bijoy Chandra Padhi, Principal, VCS, Sambalpur ; Mr. Sanatan Mahapatra , Principal, CNEMS; Mrs. Saily Padhi, Headmistress,VCS, Sambalpur; Mrs. Rashmi Rekha Pradhan , TGT and Mrs. Binodini Dash,TGT of VRS, Khandagiri, BBSR paid a two days visit to our School on 17th & 18th July, 2018. During their visit they had personal interactions with the teachers and students and had a wide range of academic discussions including use of methodologies, classroom management etc. . Addressing a congregation of students, Mr. Dash and the Team hailed the students discipline along with classroom ambience and urged them for its continual in their lives so as to make them a perfect human being in all aspects. The team felt rejoiced to be a part of such a big ambience, appreciated most the teaching learning process and the methodology adopted by teachers and desired to visit the institution in the days to come

The legacy of Vikash is the outcome of the exemplary parenting of Late Sri Dasari Veer Raju the adorable father of the Chairman Vikash Sri D. Murali Krishna and Director Administration Sri D. Nageshwar Rao; and Late Sri G. Ram Chandra Rao lovable father of MD Vikash Sri G. Bhaskar Rao. Vikash commemorates the valued Parenting of the two great souls and on this day of 25th August, the pious anniversary of the Late Sri Dasari Veerraju, School observes ‘Vikash Day of Parenting. School paid tributes and honored the duo. The management appealed the students to love and respect parents. In specific the Chairman Vikash urged the young mass, to transform themselves in a way that it would be a valued gift for the parents.

The champion students of the Talent Search and the Best performer House in Dance and Parade of the I-Day celebrations were felicitated by the d guests and dignitaries on the occasion. Honble Chief Guest Prof. Tusharakanti Tripathy, Deputy Director, Dept. of Education, Odisha felicitated by revered Management Vikash Group of Institutions.

The whole conclave of Vikash vibrated with the patriotic fervor as the children exhibited live patriotic songs and spectacular dances to express the feeling of unity and secularism in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of integrity.

I-Day 2018 was a great day and a proud moment for every Vikashite. School celebrated the 72nd Independence Day on 15th Aug 2018 with nationalism and enthusiasm. The celebration began with the hoisting of the National flag by the Honble Chief Guest Prof. Tusharakanti Tripathy, Deputy Director, Dept. of Education, Odisha in the presence of Sh. D. Murali Krishna, Honble Chairman, VGI; Sh. D. Nageswar Rao, Director Administration, VGI; Dr. S.N. Panda, Director; all the Principals, Vice Principals, Coordinators, Administrators, Teachers and Students.
