NATIONAL POLLUTION CONTROL DAY was observed in our school on 2nd December 2017. Georgia Xalxo, a Teacher explained about this day and aware the children how the pollution is harmful to our body. A small skit was performed by our senior students on this special day on the same topic. Finally Principal Mr.Sanatan Mahapatra addressed the gathering . They memorized us the thousands of human beings who had lost their existence because of the Bhopal gas calamity in the year 1984. He also suggested and inspired the gathering to be alert and aware for the nature.

We observed the World AIDS Day on the 1st December. It’s an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness. Founded in 1988, World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day. It is an opportunity to show solidarity with the millions of people living with HIV worldwide. Most people do this by wearing an HIV awareness red ribbon on the day. Teacher Mantu Debta delivered a short speech on this topic.

INFOSPARK-2017-ANNUAL SCIENCE & ART EXHIBITION was held on 25th November-2017. Mr Anil Singhewar, Plant Head,ACC, was the Chief Guest and Mr D.Murali Krishna, Chairman,VGI was the Honourable Guest. A number of Arts, Crafts and Model & Experiments on Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Charts on Languages (Hindi, Odia, Sanskrit, English) were presented nicely by the students. Guests and Parents as well as the visitors appreciated a lot.

The 128th birthday of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated as Childrens day in our School. Mr Anil Kumar Dubey, GM, HR, ACC,BCW, esteemed chief guest and Honourable Principal of the school lighted up the holy lamp and offered flowers at the portrait of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru. On this occasion the chief guest addressed the gathering and inspired the children a lot. He told that today’s generation is too intelligent and innovative. He, encouraged the teachers to put more efforts to bring the children up to that height. He also stated that both teachers and parents should join hands to develop the students and prepare them by creating a platform for their future career. The teachers of the school played the role of the students on this grand occasion. Mr Deepak Seth played the role of head boy and Ms Preeti Patra as head girl in the morning assembly. Mr Dhiren Bhoi and Mr Shankar Behera presented the welcome song. The school had organized a fancy dress competition on the eve of Children’s Day. The winners of the same were awarded by the chief guest with the cooperation of Mr Dillip Behera and Mr Dhiren Bhoi. The programme was made more attractive and pompous by the students of different houses with their thrilling dances. The entire programme was coordinated by Mr Bapun Rout and Mr Mantu Debta offered the vote of thanks.

To celebrate the spirit of tourism and to motivate people to participate in activities showcasing the tourism potential of Incredible India, as per the circular CBSE-Acad//38/2017, our school celebrated the Paryatan Parv from 5th to 25th October-2017. The Parv aims at supporting tourism in India and would revolve around elements like promoting tourism for all and organizing cultural activities. With these activities the children could know about the various historical/religious/tourist places and their importance in our day today life, culture, custom, tradition etc. In the debate, essay, quiz, seminar and special assembly the children presented their thought on the role of tourism and social harmony, tourism and economic and social prosperity, education and tourism, tourism environment, tourism and culture etc which are the various themes related to tourism. The children presented different historical places and religious places in their painting. They showed their respect towards Incredible India with their slogan. The children got a number of information on this topic and were inspired a lot by these activities. We have conducted the following activities:- ? Special Assembly ? Seminar ? Debate ? Essay ? The Inter School Solo song Competition under the aegis of Sahodaya Schools Complex W.O. Sambalpur was organized in our School where students of 16 schools of the Sahodaya family participated and made it a grand success. In the inaugural meeting Dr Rabi Narayan Sahoo, Secretary of the Complex joined as the Guest of honour and inaugurated the programme by lighting the Mangaldeep. The Principal offered the welcome address to the guests and gathering. Mr Dipanshu Acharya, Mr Prashanta Acharya and Mr Kali Charan Bag were the honourable judges of the competition. The guests, Judges and all the people present there praised the endeavour and the presentation of the of the participants. In the closing meeting Mr Sisir Prasad Raulo, Chairman of the Complex encouraged the participants, thanked the principals of all the schools and honoured the winners with trophies. He also felicitated the judges of the day. Miss Astha Mahapatra, Vikash Residential School, Miss Grecy Nisha Singhal of Rotary Public School and Miss Sneha Bose of D.A.V Jharsuguda stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. The total program was co-ordinated by our teachers Mr Bapun Rout and Miss Disha Singhari with the support of all other teachers. Mr Dillip Kumar Behera offered the vote of thanks.

National Education Day was observed on 11th November-2017. A special assembly was organized. The Principal offered flower to the portrait of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad as it was the birth anniversary of him. He was the first Education Minister of Independent India. Teacher Disha Singhari coordinated the programme. The principal inspired the students to be educated. We have conducted Debate Competition on the topic ‘IMPORTANCE OF WOMEN EDUCATION IN NATION BUILDING’ and a Group Discussion on the topic ‘ EDUCATION & NATION.

Sasmita Majhi-Class-X- 1st (Odia) and Ankit Kumar Sahu-Class-X- 3rd (English) in District School Level Debate Competition, organised by DIPRO, on the eve of Vigilance Awareness Week-2017.

TOY DAY was observed by the KG students. The students of LKG & UKG have brought different toys and played in the school. The teachers also entertained them by telling stories and rhymes.

Inter-Vikash Literary and Cultural Competitions were held on 2nd and 3rd November-2017. The best three of each item those have been selected and awarded in Talent Search – 2017 of our school, have participated in these competitions. Our school got five awards in this competition.
